The best way to get started is to get out there and do it. All you really need is loose fitting (but not too baggy) clothing and a good pair of running shoes. It's best to check out some tutorials on the basics or ideally arrange to meet up with someone who can show you the ropes. Most sites have tutorials and forums you can use to find people willing to help out (see our links page) I myself am always willing to introduce budding traceurs to Parkour when I can so get in touch.

Most gyms are reluctant to allow people to practice parkour for reasons such as; it's not covered by their insurance, they don't have the training or the equipment. The reason they turn people away is they're protecting you from getting hurt Aden themselves from getting in trouble.
Your best bet is to look for a local adult gymnastics class (or child depending on you're age). Go along and get a feel for what you can get away with there. You may even see others practicing parkour. Once you have you're foot in the door most places give you free reign to practice various gymnastics moves. Then simply start throwing oem Parkour moves in as well. Even if they wont allow you to practice Parkour gymnastics is a good method of training and disciplining your body for Parkour.

Nope, not blind chances are that spot is on private property. Other sites documenting PK hotspots have been forced of the web for "encouraging people to trespass. I'm just trying to preempt that. Besides a lot of people will tell you Parkour is about finding you're own way. This sites just a rough guide have a look around and see what you can see.
